Mercedes-Benz is a company that makes owning a vehicle from them very easy and simplistic. You do not have to remember complicated schedules for services because they have created a maintenance schedule based on modules to help streamline the process for you. This is known as the Flexible Service System and it consists of two main parts: Service A and Service B. Mercedes-Benz recommends that owners time their service intervals based on the Flexible Service System so that there are no issues and that services line up with the Maintenance Service Indicator System.

How the Maintenance Service Indicator System Works

This system is designed to send reminder alerts to all owners when it is time to service their vehicle. The alert actually comes one month in advance so you have time to get your service scheduled. Additionally, there will be count down messages sent to you during this time. The countdown messages will outline the services needed and how many days until the services are due for your vehicle. On the day the service is due, you will also receive an alert telling you what service group is due that day. If you fail to bring in your vehicle for services, then you will begin to get additional alerts telling you that the service is past due. Your vehicle will also alert you with a signal or tone if you have gone over the allowed time frame or mileage marker that is recommended by the factory.

Here at Mercedes-Benz of South Charlotte, we make servicing your vehicle as easy as possible by only using high-quality OEM auto parts and AES-trained technicians. They will get the services done with the latest technology and will also help you diagnose any potential issues.

About Service A

Your Mercedes-Benz isn’t just any ordinary car and therefore requires more than just an ordinary service schedule. Here’s what you need to know.

Service A should be done at around the one year mark or at around 10,000 miles, as outlined and recommended by Mercedes-Benz. However, for exact timing, you should listen to the recommendations made by your Flexible Service System. After the first Service A visit, you should have another one done every two years or every 20,000 miles for vehicles made 2009 or later.

Services Performed:

  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Oil filter replacement
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year model
  • Synthetic motor oil replacement
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter

About Service B

Only Mercedes-Benz customizes the service schedules for your vehicle according to the amount of time you’ve owned it. Learn about how Stage B Service ensures you’ll be enjoying your Mercedes-Benz for years to come.

For most vehicles, Service B will need to happen approximately one year or 10,000 miles after the first Service A visit. Keep in mind that the Flexible Service System will tell you when you should come in. After the first Service B visit, you will come in for another Service B visit every two years or 20,000 miles.
